The blend is engineered to compact tight under rolling, forming a strong, near-impermeable base for driveways, roads, and pads.

Yes, broadly. Different regions use different names for the same general material: a graded crushed stone with fines, engineered to compact. "Crusher run," "road base," "DGA," "GAB," and "QP" all describe materials in this family. Florida typically uses "road base" or "lime rock base" for limestone versions.

For a residential driveway, 4"–6" of compacted road base is standard. For driveways supporting delivery trucks, RVs, or boats on trailers, go 6"–8". Always lay over a stable subgrade and compact in 3"–4" lifts for best results.

At 4" compacted depth, one ton of road base covers about 50 sq ft. At 6" compacted, about 33 sq ft. For a 12'×40' driveway at 6" deep, plan on roughly 15 tons compacted.
